Why Marfa Still Haunts Me — A Free Poster & Letter to Take With You

There’s a strange hush in Marfa, Texas — something that lingers long after the wind has blown the dust from your boots. Maybe it’s the way the light falls, as if the desert is holding its breath. Maybe it’s the silence between trains, or the illusion of stars winking just for you.

Marfa isn’t loud. It doesn’t beg for your attention like other places do. But it stays. Like a letter never quite mailed, waiting in a drawer you forgot you had.

That’s why it became the first city in my new series, Letters from Lost Cities — a collection of poetic, nostalgic love notes to places that shaped us, and sometimes, unraveled us.

✦ Why This Series Exists

I believe cities hold memories even after we leave them — shadows of ourselves caught in the doorways and sunlight. With Letters from Lost Cities, I’m trying to capture that feeling and send it back to you. One place at a time.
