Getting Pictures with
TFP
What is tfp? Well, basically it means
time for print although most photographers nowadays do
digital photography which would technically be tfcd (time
for cd). You donate your time and talent for his or her
portfolios and, in turn you get images to put in your book.
There are a few variations depending upon the agreement
between photographer and model so work out your own deal -
one where both parties win.
Setting Up Your Photo
Shoot
As mentioned above, the photography
company is giving you their valuable time so treat them
well. Also, make sure going in the type of pictures they
want to create. Make sure you are very comfortable with the
setup and that you are not going to do compromising poses
you will be sorry for later on. This is something you need
to establish before agreeing to the session.
Who Furnishes What?
Other parts of your tfp agreement
might include whether or not a makeup artist (MUA) and/or
hair stylist will be available. You might need to contact
these people and have them meet you at the studio or other
photographic location. These people can come in mighty handy
when posing for pictures so don't discount them.
Be Prepared
Make sure and take everything you need
to your tfp photo shoot. This includes a good assortment of
outfits, makeup kit, nail polish, lip gloss, hair
brush/pins, hats, whatever else you want included in your
pictures or portfolio.
Having everything ready along with
some awesome poses you've been practicing in the mirror will
make for a successful modeling portfolio session and you'll
come away with images you'll be proud to show your
talent
agent. Now, get online and
start making some contacts. Oh, and make sure someone goes
with you to any photo shoot or interview for safety. Have
fun!!!
