Types of Modeling
Editorial and High Fashion Modelingby Bob Pardue High fashion and editorial modeling are the categories most models know best; probably because these are the most glamourous (and sought after) positions in the modeling industry. Although the pay is relatively low ($100-$300 per day), you'll gain exposure in this field and get pages from campaigns (tear sheets) to use when contacting other agencies or clients. Tear sheets are a valuable addition to your model portfolio book as they prove that you are capable and have been working as a model. Physical Requirements For high fashion modeling: Women: 5' 9" to 6' tall with the norm being about 120-123 lbs for a 5' 9" model Bust: 32-35" Waist: 22-25 Hips: 33-36 Men: 6' to 6' 1" Jacket: 40-42R Waist: 32" Inseam: 32" To be a high fashion model you need a very distinctive and exciting look. You'll find most high fashion models living in New York. Be ready to travel and stay away from home if you choose high fashion as your modeling career. As you may have already gathered, high fashion modeling is not for everyone; especially the home bodies.
