How To Model Like A
Professional
You know your feet better than others
in terms of balance, adaptability to posture, and capability
of maintaining a definite stance. Imagine positioning your
feet in ways models do for different assignments including
highlighting footwear, accessories, or other fashion wear.
Learn to adapt different postures the natural
way.
Fitness
is the key to be able to maneuver your feet in food
modeling. Your feet become an asset before you get into the
modeling industry. Prepare them well. Make sure you wear the
correct footwear, soft stockings, sustain clear skin, and
regularly visit the parlor for pedicure. Nails must be
polished and evenly shaped.
Getting Familiar With Basic
Postures
Equal distribution of weight on either
foot is the natural way for a person while walking, sitting,
or lifting loads. To focus on different positions, learn to
balance on either foot with ease. Here are some basic
exercises to be practiced before getting your feet wet in
modeling.
Learn to distribute your weight on
both feet. Pretend your legs are held by an imaginary clock
with its boundary touching the outer part of either leg.
Ensure your toes and heel touch the ground. This is a
comfortable position, but you consciously make an effort to
distribute weight in definite proportion.
The body should direct your legs. If
your body faces the front, toes must follow suit. In other
words, your entire body gives direction to the legs in foot
modeling.
Try to keep your feet together aligned
straight in front with just a few inches separating them.
Your fitness levels will determine uneasiness in either leg.
If you are not used to squatting on the floor, learn to bend
your knees, sit cross-legged, and put weight on your
knees.
Building A Successful Portfolio Is
Vital
If you plan to become a freelance foot
models, you'll need a good portfolio of photos. A successful
portfolio consists of photographs of legs in different
postures. Here is where initiative on your part will help
the photographer click great photographs. Foot photography
is a bit different than regular fashion photography. The
onus is on you to present postures you think are valid for
different assignments. A photographer will follow your cue.
Posing for Photos
Relax during the photo session by
ensuring your knees are totally flexed. The legs should be
straight when knees are taut. Follow examples of foot models
you have observed either in magazines or on video. For
instance, a cross-legged pose for a shoe ad may appear
clearer if a photograph is clicked from a certain angle.
Your feet have therefore to be positioned accordingly so
people can appreciate the pair of shoes being
promoted.
Foot modeling requires preparation
before actually getting into an assignment. It is just a
matter of time before you get your first assignment.
However, elaborate preparations made will get you some of
the best assignments possible
