 Modeling for Elite Agency

If you look at the female models this prestigious agent represents, several descriptive words come to mind .. gorgeous, graceful, tall and slim. Not only that, but their skin is like silk, their nails are sculptured, and their hair is soft and full of life. This is the world of Elite modeling. Do you measure up? Here are some requirements.

Age

Ages range up to 21 normally but teenagers between 13 to 15 years old seem to be the ones most interested in modeling as a career. If you are between those ages read more of Elite's requirements in getting started or accepted.

Height and Figure

How tall are you? If you are 5'9" or taller you might consider runway or fashion. These models have to be sleek and thin so make sure you fit the bill before answering call backs in this area.

Complexion

Your face should be virtually free of acne or scars and look clear with very little makeup.

Fingernails

Manicured and unbroken nails are a plus

Hair

No split ends or dry and damaged hair here. Also, be careful of over dying your hair.

Teens, Preteens and Adults in Local Markets

You might or might not have the stiff requirements needed to go to New York or Los Angeles to apply to Elite but there is still hope. Here are a few things to consider if you want to go local in the entertainment industry.

Body Type:

What type body do you have? Are you curvy? If your measurements are close to 34-24-34 you might be glamour model material. But, be aware that you might be asked to do modeling in swimsuits or lingerie or without much clothing at all. If you are a brave sort and comfortable with your body there are opportunities in this type modeling career. Be careful who you choose to work with and check out all agencies and photographers before going to interviews or photo shoots.

Plus Size:

If you are a bit heavy (not overweight) there are ops in plus size modeling available for fashion, catalog, etc.

Teenagers and Preteen

Put together a tight teenage model portfolio, get your mom or dad involved and contact some agents to get you started. Hint: Runway is fine if you are tall and meet the other requirements but also consider catalog and commercial work too (less competitive).

Children

Kids, infants and toddlers can become models too in this super young field.

Modeling Types

Runway - Described above you need to be tall with a slim figure

High Fashion - Basically same as runway models but these are the young men and women you see posing for a print magazine cover like Vogue or Seventeen. And, nowadays you might also view them in online mags.

Commercial - More accessible in local markets but a good career can be had in this part of the entertainment industry for advertisements, editorial lifestyle, TV commercials, etc.

Promotional - These are the young models you see taking care of trade show booths or handing out materials and brochures at events, etc. These jobs are great to take in-between your modeling photo opportunities.

Art or Figure Modeling - These are models who pose for artists at schools and colleges and for photographers to put on artistic calendars, etc. Some implied or more explicit showing of the skin may be involved.

Glamour - For the curvy girl with a 34 D bra size this can be a lucrative field but it is more for the bold and the beautiful as you'll be showing swimwear, lingerie, etc. You might see one of these models in the new Victoria's Secret catalog.

Sports and Fitness - As you most likely suspect, fitness models are fit. They have hard bodies with perfect features. Many work in the commercial field selling anything from ab exercise equipment to vitamin supplements to clothing. Get a rigid workout routine going before checking into this type model career.

Catalog - Just as the name says you will be modeling clothing for department stores, outlets, etc. There may be some height and weight requirements. Ops include petite and plus size.

So, you see? You don't have to be supermodel material to work in the exciting field of performing arts. Elite Modeling Management is just one of the many top list talent agents in the USA so don't give up if you are not accepted by this industry giant. Look into all avenues of entertainment before you dissolve your dream for success.
