Teen Iowa modeling agencies are a bit scarce but I hope to list more talent agents in the future. In the meanwhile, to get started and before you begin to find an open call, you must take the time to practice your craft each morning, tone up your body, do posing in front of a mirror until you get the looks, poses and expressions you want.

Then, set up a photo shoot with a reputable teen model photographer and then start making Iowa contacts. It requires work but is almost that simple!

Requirements for Iowa Models

As with any other business, entertainment takes a certain look for different types of modeling jobs. Here are some examples...

High Fashion - This is where you will find the superstars like Cindy Crawford or Tyra Banks. The models in this category grace the covers of top list magazines such as Seventeen, Vogue and others.

Runway - Similar to high fashion with height requirements. How tall do you need to be? For runway, generally 5'9" or taller with a slim figure. IMG Management and Elite are just a couple of high ranking agencies who represent America's top model candidates. Expect fierce competition in this field.

Commercial - This is not as rigorous in body type but agents in this area hire models with an outgoing presence for the camera and you need to know how to give a variety of poses and facial expressions to qualify. Age or look is not as much a factor. You can find work in this type modeling in Iowa or surrounding states with a little searching.

Glamour - This area includes photos in swimsuits, lingerie or wearing even less. Be careful and don't get caught up in seedy work that you are not comfortable with. Top listings including magazines like Glamour, etc. or maybe even a cover of Victoria's Secret catalogs. Not for the timid and may also be aligned with figure or artistic modeling. Women and men are featured in this type of work. Female body type is around 34-B, 24, 34 while male is normally a toned physique and a 28 to 32 waist size.

Other modeling types and opportunities in Iowa include fitness, body part, beauty and promotional (such as trade show models, etc.)
