If you are looking into modeling opportunities for teenagers in Idaho, the entertainment industry is just a mouse click away. One secret to success is to practice your posing techniques each morning in the mirror before you contact photographers, get some professional pictures in a portfolio or comp card, and then contact fashion model agencys.
How Tall do I Have to Be to Be an Idaho Model?
For female models interested in high fashion or runway, normally 5'9" or taller. Males at about 6'0 to 6'4". You also need to have a slim build with good body proportions according to you height. Top list companies like Elite, Ford or IMG like these statistics and they see tons of models applying for jobs everyday so be on your toes before going to NY.
For local work in entertainment, you'll still need some height for runway but there are other types of modeling opportunities such as glamour, commercial, fitness and promotional. These are not as strict but you'll still need good posing techniques and you must have a command of facial expressions and know how to use body language. Practice every day to get better.
Model Portfolios and Requirements
In a portfolio of modeling pictures you'll need headshots, full and 3/4 length photos. Create different styles and poses for your photographers including some fashion, lifestyle, etc. Or, bodybuilding, fitness or figure shots if you plan to do these.
Include at least one closeup without makeup in a natural light (outdoor) setting. Also include one swimsuit or a full length picture in tight fitting clothes so you can show off your figure.
Super young or children in modeling should have mostly lifestyle and some fashion shots.
If you have the curves, you might try glamour modeling. This is the type such as you see women posing in swimsuits, bikinis or even less. You must be brave and comfortable showing your body to do this type modeling but the pay is sometimes large.
Other jobs include petite, plus size, body parts, artistic and commercial which can be found even in Idaho with a little searching. Don't just plan on one type model career and then give up because you didn't fit the look. See if another area will suit your face and body type. You might find a place in entertainment after all.
