Listings For Other Talent Agencies
Arkansas Teenagers in Modeling Just because you don't live in one of the major cities and have access to the top list companies like Ford doesn't mean you have to give up on your dream of working in a job you enjoy. Everyday, AK talent scouts are posting modle jobs for teenagers, ages 13, 14,15, etc., preteen, children, men and women so you can find employment locally. One Important Step Before Applying for an Interview There are lots of ways to break into this business but one is to practice. Before you start looking for a management rep, learn the basics of posing for photographers by talking to other people what already have done some shoots and by glancing through fashion, glamour or artistic magazines to see how it's done. Practice your poses in a mirror and then consider acting in some test photos with a local Arkansas photographer to gain some experience. Put together your portfolio and start checking for open calls in your area. If You Have a Child Opportunities do exist for parents of the super young (toddlers) or children who are outgoing and photogenic. Make sure your kids are not shy and have no problem when around several people at once. See how they react and make sure the child is comfortable with this setup. If not, you might not want to put them in this situation. Women in Swimsuits or Figure Modeling Agencies For the young woman who is really comfortable with her body and has plenty of curves in the right places, this type glamour posing is a possibility. A word of caution, once you've done partially clothed, implied or an art pose it's sometimes difficult to get back into the mainstream of fashion or catalog work. The Top of the Agency List There are many agencies to consider besides those listed in the state of Arkansas. IMG is one and another to consider is the well established Elite Management. Either of these are excellent choices but it's really a competitive market when you decide on these. A couple of other "biggies" in entertainment are MC2 and Next. Get listed with any of these and your career should take off. Remember to follow all guidelines for contact and submit a very clear headshot and a good, full length image of yourself (Do not send cellphone or poorly developed pictures. See a professional photographer if needed.).
What to Wear to the Interview When you go to open cast calls be sure to dress accordingly. In other words, don't overdo it! Wear something casual such as a nice skirt and top, or maybe a pullover with blue jeans. Make sure they are not skin tight. Avoid anything low cut or clothes that could be construed as see through. Agents don't want to see gaudy, they want to focus on your face, height, weight, hair, eyes and personality. Arrive wearing little or no make up or eyeshadow, etc. Don't wear color contact lenses unless you disclose this fact to the director. Truthfulness is a must and the booking agent does not have to guess what you really look like. If he or she wants changes after the interview, don't get offended, this is normal. But, let them decide if they want to see a different or fantasy version of you.
Hope this helped in making your decision to get with a modeling agency and I hope you lots of success whether you go worldwide or decide to seek work in AR. Go get 'em!!
