It's time for that photo shoot and you
have to pose wearing pants - what to do? Well, first of all
you can watch this little instructional video for some cool
posing techniques beginner
female models can easily
understand - and perform.
Or, you can get a posing guide to help
with getting started. Either way, your talent will shine
when you know how to pose correctly.
How to Pose in Pants
When you begin to get jobs as a model,
you'll find yourself in many different posing situations -
you might be one of those women modeling swimsuits or you
could be posing in pants for either a commercial or fashion
studio session. No matter what the scenario, you'll be
expected to know how to perform these poses, and you will
once you study these basic tips.
Video Instruction - Posing in Pants for Female
Models
You Can Pose No Matter
if..
You are wearing regular pants, jeans,
slacks or even shorts if you follow the system completly and
practice what you learn. This is always the key and I'll
never stop saying it. There is always going to be some work
involved. Not sure where, but I heard a saying the other day
that went something like; "if someone tells you that you can
achieve success without work - work is what you'll be
without." Confusing? Don't worry, you don't have to remember
it word for word!
The Modeling Pose for
Pants
When you model pants, stand with your
front leg (the one facing the camera) so that it shows the
front of the pants. Then, position your back leg (the one
away from the camera) so that the photographer will see the
inseam of your slacks or jeans.
Show Off Your Legs
You have long legs - you're a fashion
model, right? Well, use them in your posing
stance. Notice in the video
that the front leg is straight and the back leg is slightly
bent at the knee. This makes your legs appear much longer
and shows off the pants in the final photos.
What to do with Your
Hands
With your back leg pointing to the
side, let that hand rest slightly on the inner thigh. Your
other hand will be posed with the hand resting in a natural
way on the side of your leg. Your thumb nail should be
pointed forward again; to show the pants.
Modeling Pose for
Clothing
One last tip to remember. When you are
doing any type of catalog modeling, no matter if it's for
pants or any other kind of outfit, the clothing is what the
client is trying to sell - NOT the model. So, watch the
model posing video lesson above and keep practicing your
poses until you can make them your own. Now,

model!!
