Not bred into the modeling network, Lara Stone was born the beautiful daughter of a Dutch mother and a British father. She was born in Geldrop in 1983 but grew up in the small town of Mierlo in the Netherlands. But, stardom was about to happen for her!

First Start in a Long Running Career

Stone entered the Elite Model look contest in 1999. Although she failed to win, she really impressed the judges and executives of the contest which led to the international giant, Elite Modeling Agency signing her.

Moving On

Lara Stone’s career took a turn for the better when she left Elite Model Management to sign with IMG worldwide in 2006. Fall 2006 saw Lara become an in-demand fashion model for the fall shows in Paris.

Her starry career continued to rise as during the same year when she found herself being photographed by renowned photographer Terry Richardson for Sisley – as well as being featured on the cover of French Elle.Style.com and French Vogue. These statements marked Stone’s rise during the spring 2007 season.

She was eventually designated as the face of Givenchy and the face of Calvin Klein Jeans in 2007. That same year saw her opening and closing the fall Alberta Ferretti, Costume National, and Herm├Ęs shows in Milan and Paris. She opened the 2007 spring Miu Miu show and the 2007 fall Givenchy couture in Paris.

The sultry Lara Stone was later featured prominently in Italian, French, and British Vogue. Her distinct gapped teeth, lurching walk and demeanor made her the “anti-model” of the entertainment industry.

Her career was fully launched in 2008 when she became a mainstay in the shows of labels like Givenchy, Calvin Klein, Just Cavalli and Belstaff, and later became a semi-exclusive for Prada sealing her top supermodel status.
