What Do You Want From Modeling? From Life?
Many new models never realize their dream because they don’t really quite know what they want.
The good news? Now, you will understand how to assess your life interests and goals to become the model you want to be (within limits, of course).
Well, not everyone can be an African-American 5’11” skinny model.
Just as I’ll never be a horse-racing jockey, models must look at what they have – and work with their best qualities.
Aside from that, one thing’s for sure. You can become a better model with a plan, than without one!
Do you get my meaning? Of course you do!
So, with that said, let’s get started..
Top 3 Ways to Assess Your Life Interests and Modelling Goals – Make Your Lists
First, there are many different things you’ll need to take into consideration when it comes to assessing your life interests and goals for modelling dreams.
1. Be Happy with Yourself
Make sure you do everything you need to do in order to be happy with yourself. You will find that there are many ways that you can assess your life.
But, you will first want to start and make a few lists.
Your list should include everything you are proud of – everything you have achieved. This not only counts modeling, but other areas of your life.
Then, make a list of everything you want to do.
Finally, make a list of specific goals for yourself so you can point yourself in the right direction.
2. Baby Steps to Success
Take all of these with small steps. You don’t want to try to figure out everything at once.
Remember, start small and focus your attention on one thing at a time.
Set small goals and achieve them one at a time. Then, move on to the next one.
Once you have become satisfied with a part of your life, go to work making other areas of your life better.
Eventually, you’ll discover a new way of life when you take it a step at a time.
Most importantly, learn how to incorporate everything in life you want to accomplish.
3. Check Out ALL Areas of Your Life – Not Just Your Model Career
Think about ways that you can improve all areas of your life including:
- health or fitness,
- personal development,
- and relaxation.
When it comes to relationships with your spouse or boyfriend, make sure you both feel secure in the relationship. And, try to take steps to find your soul mate.
You will learn from your mistakes. But, the best part is, you’ll be more likely to end up with someone who you will love; and someone who will love you back.
Family should be very important to you. When trying to improve your relationships with the children or with your parents, try to keep up with family needs.
Health & Fitness
Next, health and fitness needs to be a concern.
Learn how to control habits and keep your body fit and in shape.

Even though modeling or other related work is a big part of your life, fun needs to play a part too.
Consider the type of fun you love (but maybe don’t have the time for), and try to take some steps into just making time for joy.
Your Personal Development List
As for personal development, you will find that things like:
- relaxation time,
- spiritual time,
- and even emotional.
All these things play a role in your personal development. Learn how to make yourself a better person.
Modeling Can Be a Hobby – But, What about Finances?
Finally, consider looking at your financial situation, and also your career plans.
Here’s the bottom line. You may be satisfied with your current career. But, it’s very important that you find some financial security to invest in.
What Makes You Happy?
Recognize the things that make you happy. More importantly, list the things that could make you happy!
Life is all about ups and the downs. The key is, don’t allow life to keep you down. Learn how to pick yourself up and learn from the experience.
The Perfect Alternative to Your Negative Thoughts
Let’s face it. Many of us have what my mentor, Zig Ziglar refers to as “stinking thinking.” Do you have it? Are you constantly dwelling on the “I can’t” instead of the “I can?”
If so, go back and read this again. Then, without hesitation, start making your list of blessings in your life.
I’ll bet you have some good family members, great best friends, and even people you look up to in modeling.
Finally, when you make it to your level of success (wherever that may be), become a person others look up to in your field.
Your modeling career is important. But, when you gain respect from your peers, you are successful! – Bob
