How to Create Homemade Spa Recipes Easily and Quickly
There’s just nothing like beauty and the spa, is there? Women have been either visiting these expensive, elite establishments, or trying to re-create the experience at home for eons. So, the question is; can you really create homemade spa recipes that work just as well as the upscale name brand beauty products?
To answer, we’re going to talk today about how you can look more beautiful, have healthier skin and feel better about yourself – all at a fraction of the cost! Let’s get started.
A Bit of Spa Treatment History – Store Bought vs Homemade
Skin treatments and spa products have engaged so much of the global market nowadays that it’s near impossible not to find full department store aisles dedicated to beauty.
But, is it still practical to keep buying these skin care products, since more and more chemical elements are being added to them each year?
And yet, these beauty products are in high demand. But, they still need to be preserved to have a long shelf life.
Is It Really All Natural Skin Care?
In modern times, many of the manufacturers offering “natural” spa products are adding ingredients that aren’t necessarily natural (or even good for the skin).
If the thought of these artificial additives gives you the willies, then it’s time to try out natural homemade spa recipes that you can easily make in your bathroom or kitchen.
The Downside of Homemade Spa Recipes? Shorter Lasting
It’s a given that spa treatments which are made at home will have a lessor shelf life because they won’t contain these potentially harmful preservatives.
But, does it really matter? You can always make more, can’t you?
This is the wonderful part about DIY spa treatments.
Once you have the basic ingredients, you can continue making up just the right amount of skin toners and moisturizers to use on a daily or weekly basis.
Some Homemade Beauty Products You Can Make Now
Here are a couple of all natural DIY spa recipes to get you started on your journey to using safe, homemade spa products that give your skin a thrill. I’ve included two recipes for natural beauty products below.
Learn to Make All Natural Lip Gloss
It’s really simple to make natural lip gloss once you learn the recipe.
Here are the Ingredients:
- fresh beet juice (you can get some by running beets through a juicing machine)
- 2 ½ tbsps. of extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tbsps. of castor oil
- a quarter cup of natural beeswax
- and any diluted fragrant oil you like.
To create the lip gloss, first place the beeswax in a pan and melt using low heat.
Once the beeswax has been melted, turn off the stove and add the rest of the ingredients.
Mix using a non-reactive stirrer or spatula until a fine, equal consistency is achieved.
Add enough beet juice to get the hue you like.
Some women like their natural lip gloss a darker shade of red; if this is the color you want, then just add more beet juice to the mixture.
The only step left is to put it on your lips, and hurry out for an evening of fun – no one but you will know it’s all natural!
Lip Moisturizer the Natural Way
Are your lip moisturizers way too expensive? Well, hold on to your pocketbook! Now you can make your own moisturizing balm without breaking the bank!
This recipe requires;
- 4 tbsps. of colorless beeswax
- 4 tbsps. of fragrant oil
- ½ tsp. of lime oil
- and 1 tbsp. of fresh honey.
It’s pretty simple to use this recipe to make your lip moisturizer. Read on.
First, you’ll want to combine the colorless beeswax and four tablespoons of fragrant oil in a pan.
Turn the heat up enough so that the beeswax begins to melt.
Mix both ingredients together by stirring until they are mixed well.
Turn the heat off, add the lime oil and fresh honey to the pan.
Now, mix all the ingredients until you achieve a pasty consistency.
Pour the contents from the pan to a clean glass container, and let the mixture cool down and set for a while.
It will take at least 30 minutes for the mixture to set completely.
After the natural lip moisturizer has set and hardened in its glass container, take a small amount and apply to your lips. See how soft they feel? And, no chemicals involved!
