A Celebrity Dress won't make You Queen of the Prom !!

Many young women and teen girls love to watch female celebrities, especially to see what they are wearing. Today we are seeing more and more variation on celebrity dresses, especially the formal gowns and dresses being worn to award shows.

I just don't understand why anyone would pay such a price for a celebrity dress that is going to be worn only once. Why would I spend that much for a dress when I could own a car for the same price? I can't comprehend this, but I guess I am just not like everyone else.

Do you have friends who think that if they don't own a celebrity dress, the world will come to an end? I do know a few people who think this is what life is all about. I don't feel that way now and I hope I never do. I have always been a little less concerned about what I wear than most of my friends. I do like to wear great stuff every now and then, but I just don't plan my wardrobe around what the celebrities wear.

Beware of Fashion Dress Imitations

Thankfully, I don’t have a lot of friends that must have the latest celebrity dresses, but a few of them have chosen a celebrity dress knockoff to wear to their prom.

These knockoffs, or imitations, do not put any money in the fashion designers pocket, and you would think the designers would have picked up on this by now.

Though most of these clothes that celebrities show up in look great, I don't believe many of the celebrities really choose what they wear sometimes, at least not at large events like the Oscars. Some do and some do not, but the celebrity dresses are still a long tradition.

There is something else that most don’t understand about celebrity dresses. Most of those gowns worn at big events are loners or gifts. Even the celebrity did not pay that wild amount of money for the dress. Many times it is a gift for advertising purposes.

This is why you always hear people covering these events ask, “What are you wearing?” If the celebrity can’t tell anyone what they are wearing, they aren’t doing their job. I would think some free advertising in return for a great dress is great, but I can’t imagine even wanting to spend that much on celebrity dresses.

Maybe I am just jealous and if I had the money the celebrities had, I would probably be out buying celebrity dresses instead of writing this fashion article. <:-)
