Small Digital Cameras - Can You See Them?
By Various presented by Bob Pardue
Would you like to find out what
those-in-the-know have to say about little digital cameras? The
information in the article below comes straight from well-informed
experts with special knowledge about digital cameras.
It used to be that if you wanted to get a
decent digital camera, you had to get one that was rather large. I
bought mine over a year ago, and it was indeed rather big and
cumbersome.
I love it though, so I wont complain too
much about the size. I have seen a new trend lately, however. It
seems that cameras are getting smaller while not having to give up
picture size and memory.
Many of these small digital cameras have the
same features the larger ones do, but are far easier to carry
around.
Im not so sure I will be willing to get a
smaller camera the next time I decide I would like a new one though.
Its not that I dont think small digital cameras will work
as well or take the same great pictures.
If you base what you do on inaccurate
information, you might be unpleasantly surprised by the consequences.
Make sure you get the whole digital cameras story from informed
sources.
Not at all. I am prone to losing things. The
reason I have not lost my cell phone over the last two years is
something of a miracle. I suppose if I spend a lot of money on
something I am going to keep
Dude, where's my camera?
It's Tuesday! Where's my Camera?

A whole lot is going on at Randompixel, though most of it is behind the scenes. To faciliate these changes, I'm forgoing posting a new camera this week. Instead, I and the randompixies have been readying a huge new group of cameras to be released over the next two weeks.

To put it in perspective, the first release was of 7 cameras, in 1998, of which 2 came back. The second release, the 2000 release, consisted of 12 cameras, of which 5 came back.

The most recent release, started three weeks ago, was of 15 cameras. As of today, none of this latest batch has returned but, if history is any measure, the first cameras should be coming in any day now.

This weekend we prepared 51(!) cameras to be released over the next 10 days. This batch is larger than all of the previous camera releases combined.

On the website front, I'm working on a minor redesign of the home page, with the intention of giving more frequent blog-style updates, letting you know about cameras that have made their way home, recent news or blog articles, and an extremely comprehensive F.A.Q.

Also, I'm going to try out comments on a per-photo level, so you can let others know, for example, that there's no such thing as a 'notchback Mustang', and that it looks more like a '67 than a '65. We'll be able to see how it goes starting in a week or so.

So, to sum up: Randompixel growng. Tons of new cameras. New features. No camera this week. New camera next Tuesday.

Thanks for your support, and have a wonderful week!

it close, but I fear losing such small
things all the time. Its in my nature.
A lot of my friends have the small digital
cameras, and they say that they love them. I still fear losing one,
but they are quite appealing. I have to have a larger purse in order
to take mine with me when I go out, but they can slip theirs in a
small handbag.
I have also noticed that the small digital
cameras can take the same quality pictures as mine will take, so I
would guess that the small camera is the wave of the
future.
If you do decide to go with small digital
cameras the next time you buy, there are a few things you should keep
in mind. Though they might seem slim enough to slip into your back
pocket, this is never a good idea.
This is a great way to break one. Also remember
that even though you can easily slip them into your purse, you might
still want to get a camera bag to protect your camera.
If you cant find a bag made especially
for small digital cameras, you can find something that works for
another electronic device of similar size. As long as it will protect
your camera, it doesnt really matter what it was made
for.
Now you can understand why there's a growing
interest in digital cameras. When people start looking for more
information about digital cameras, you'll be in a position to meet
their needs.
