Let’s Explore the Real Cost of a Model Agency and – Should You?
Should you have to pay to be represented by a modeling agency? This question about the cost of a model agency comes up over and over so thought I’d address it here.
How Much Does a Model Agency Cost?
Paying for talent management representation – Real or scam?
Because the question comes up over and over again with girls and guys asking; “How much does a model agency cost?”, I thought I’d cover it as a Q&A session in this post.
Here is a quick conversation I just encountered with a young lady who wants to be a model but thinks she can’t afford to get involved in the entertainment network.
I was wondering about the modeling experience, I have always wanted to get started as a model and I think it would be a dream come true.
I would love to pursue this as a career but the prices these agents charge are sometimes insane and I don’t have a lot of money and it’s not easy to get unsecured money fast – so I was wondering if you could contact me back by email please. Thank you for your time.
The key word here is “prices”. No matter if you are looking for modeling & talent agencies in New York City or any other area of the USA, find one who represents you, not one who asks for money up front.
Their money should be made from commissions from the jobs they get for you, not schools or conventions.
In fact, as soon as a contract is placed in front of you with an application fee or other payment schedules on your end, just politely say “thanks for your time” and move on to the next company.
