Modeling Agency Requirements for Runway
Look Inside a Runway Modeling Agency
Becoming a runway model
Ever wondered what it’s like to try out to become a runway model? Many girls in their teens to early twenties dream of getting discovered and becoming a famous female model like Tyra Banks or Cindy Crawford but, in reality, most don’t make the cut. Here is a short video showing the “true” audition and what you might expect for requirements when you go to that interview.
And, the better known the agent (i.e. Elite, Ford, IMG, Etc.) the tougher it is to break into the industry. Males and females alike are getting turned down for different, and sometimes obvious, reasons and can’t figure why. But, watching this short clip will give you an idea of how quickly you’ll be tossed out if you don’t have what it takes.
BEFORE YOU LEAVE!
Wait! I am not writing this to discourage you in your quest to become a model - not at all. I’m giving this lesson so that you will be better prepared the next time you go to even a local open call. I want you to realize that there is work involved (lots of it) to become a model and get listed even with the smaller modeling agency.
Take this to heart. Do your homework and learn all you can about runway modeling before going to that first open call or interview with the talent agent. The more you know, the more you practice, the more impressive you’ll be at the open call for models.
