Model Agency Fees
Should I Have to Pay Model Agency Fees?
Some model agencies charge fees up front for training or conventions. Here is a question regarding that issue..
Q.
I want to become a fashion or commercial model but how do I find a modeling agency that I wont have to pay for before they get jobs for me?
A.
There is no simpler way than just to make contacts and ask; “Do you charge fees other than commissions.” This will give you the answer as to whether to ask more questions or to move on.
As a general rule, most modeling agencies do not charge to promote you and, if you are accepted into their company, will work to get you model jobs so they can get paid. So, it’s a win-win situation with the right agent or manager. The only fees I can think of is maybe for a model portfolio or comp cards. This is a negotiating tool when going to interviews or open calls.
You can find a beginning list at this directory of modeling agencies in the USA.
Hope this helps and I hope you lots of success in your modeling career.
