If you have ever considered becoming a fashion female model, wearing exciting clothes in a current style, walking the runway and stopping on the red carpet to give a quick pose and smile for famous fashion photographers – you should know  that modeling is not just posing and having good looks.

It requires a  lot of hard work plus training and is very competitive.

Why do you want to get involved in female modeling?
It is  important to assess why you want to become a model. Determine if your  modeling career is a stepping-stone into another career or this job is  your only aspiration.

For the first part, if being a model is your main goal, put together a plan, a photo portfolio, and make contacts with talent management companies to see if you can get accepted.

How tall is a female fashion model?

Consider the size and shape of a fashion female model, they are not all tall and  slim. They come in various shape and sizes and works in different  modeling fields such as the print media, runway just to name a few. But, to get you started

  • Runway ( AKA Catwalk ) – 5’9″ or taller normally – Ages 13 up These are the girls and young women you would catch in a fashion show and other events.
  • Commercial or Promo Modeling – 5’6″ average for females and you can model if you are 13 or 23 or 65

If you look pretty you can model – Not!
Being an attractive girl or a tall, slim woman will not help you build a successful  modeling career. Besides beauty, you have to have drive and ambition in order to pursue your goals.

To achieve the goal of successful female fashion modeling,  some girls choose a local or top list modeling agency to help eliminate some of the grunt  work.

Now, the illusion given in the media is that all new models get discovered and go to NYC, MIlan, London and other exotic destinations. Well, some do! But remember, if you apply to the “big” guys like Ford or Elite, you’ll be competing with thousands of other young ladies who want this career just as much as you so do an “inventory” check of yourself including your height, weight, hair, complexion and teeth before you apply. These top female modeling agencies play in the big time so put your best foot forward.

The local fashion model agency wants quality too but the competition is not quite as stiff. With that said, don’t let down your guard. Meet as many of the standards (above) as you can to give yourself a better chance at getting listed.

Getting with an agency is highly recommended for a young woman or teen who is just starting out  in the female fashion model world because it is difficult to do it on your own.

 

To Become a Fashion Female Model You Must ..
Learn all the attributes of a fashion female model and then work on them, one at a time because modeling does  not end when your fashion pictures are published in your favorite magazines or even modeling on a famous runway. You have to continue to improve as a model and promote yourself so  you can find better assignments. This is your best chance for  a good career in entertainment.
