Step Away from Your Glamour Model

The first trick to use is a little distance. By separating yourself from the person being photographed you can often minimize any problems that might occur from a shot not looking right. However, not every situation will allow for you to have that sort of distance. In addition, often times too much distance brings with it the risk of creating too much distortion in the picture.

Learn to be a Glamour Photographer First

Another trick to help deal with the Zig Zag issue is something that has little to do with the person being photographed and more to do with your skill as a photographer. One thing of importance when you begin working with fashion female models is that you both want to be able to relate to each other so that she knows how you want her to sit, tilt her head, hold her body straight, so that when the photo is taken, both of you will be very pleased at what the camera has seen and captured. Don't Get "Busy" with Your Glamour Photography

Another thing you need to consider is the background you choose, which should not be a loud background clashing terribly with the model's fashions.

You will learn how to best utilize the lighting you are working with through experience gained while working. But, it's a wise decision to take a class or two about setting up and using studio lighting. Then, when you practice with your female models you won't have to waste as much time "playing" with the strobe lights. You can tweak your light and shadow issues but at least try to learn the basics from a professional or a photography school.

Teach your models how to use imagination to reflect different moods using her eyes first, the body will follow.
