Honestly, I entered the world of Myspace rather slowly. It seemed to be a world made for those who were much younger than me.
You see, I am just an old photographer who happens to love everything digital and pictures are no exception.
How did I get Started with Myspace?
I had a lot of friends online urging me to sign up with Myspace, so I went ahead and did it. Although I don’t spend a lot of time there, I do go on occasion to visit those friends. What I have noticed is that Myspace seems to go through change every day, and there are more and more things you can add to your page if you are so inclined. One of these changes now being taken by storm is the ability to set up your own slide shows.
So, I had to get me one of those, and I have to admit that it was a lot of fun.
What Pictures can You use with a Myspace Slide Show?
You can make slide shows on Myspace with any photograph you have digitized on your computer. These pictures may be taken with a digital camera or scanned in by various methods.
Or, you may decide to use images from one of your online collections if you like. You can tell a lot about a person from watching their slide shows. You will discover that Mom is still showing a lot of pictures of her children, Grandma is certainly pulling out one of those long billfold picture galleries of her grandchildren, and with the singles scene you're going to see a lot of party pictures. Sound like fun to you?
But, I'm not an Internet Webmaster!! - How Easy is it to Use Myspace Slide Shows?
The MySpace slide shows are very simple to make. You will find several websites which will help you put your slideshow together, and then give you a code to put into your page online. If you are vaguely familiar with Internet workings you shouldn't have any trouble.
Are you with me so far when it comes to Myspace slide shows? If not, I am sure if you read just a little further, all the facts will fall into place for you.
Even if you have limited experience with using pictures and code on the Internet the slide show shouldn't present much of a problem.
Changing Out Myspace Photos
Want to change some or all of your Myspace pictures? You can go back to your page at a later date and update your slide shows simply by taking away or adding new photos to the system.
Are Myspace Slide Shows just for Amateur Photographers?
Some professional photographers make Myspace slide shows to present their work in a gallery. I don't recommend this as the main method for a professional to show his or her work but it is a good place to get some added picture exposure (No pun intended). There are many who use Myspace for commercial reasons, and you could be one of them.
For instance, many professional model photographers are getting into a new marketing method called web 2.0 which includes posting pictures on Myspace. What better way to get in touch with beginning models?

The Challenge of Using Myspace for Your Image Slide Show
One problem with Myspace slide shows is that the page may start to load differently. If your visitor has a slow Internet connection like dial-up (yes, there are still some), your pictures may be sluggish in appearing and moving around. My suggestion is that Myspace launch a stop button, much like many of the music players people use on Myspace to provide a solution to this problem. With a stop button, the surfers who do not want to stare at the computer screen forever waiting for the page to load could simply click the button but I am not in charge this year. d:-)
Other than the challenges mentioned above, slide shows are definitely a lot of fun so try it for yourself. Just a little time invested and you'll be showing your pictures online.
