I am not going to tell you whether or not you should or shouldn't pursue the high fashion field as a career. But, I can offer a few pointers regarding what a high-end talent or model agency will be looking for.
If you're seriously interested in knowing about high end models, you need to think beyond the basics. This informative article takes a closer look at things you need to know about high end models in the major cities.
Tip! Your model portfolio book will be made up of a book with anywhere between 10 and 25 photos normally consisting of 9x12 prints. You will want a good selection of different types of 'looks' in your portfolio.
How Tall are You?
Start with your height. This is a crucial aspect. The high fashion industry has certain demands.
For men, they're looking for a height between 5'11 and 6'3". Typically you won't see male models shorter or taller than this. When a male model paid a visit to Elite modeling agency in Chicago, they expressed that 6'1" is ideal.

You must be a Hard Body
When some young women decide to dabble in the business of high fashion modeling, one place they misinterpret is their physique! It doesn't matter if you are male of female; you need a stellar body for high end modeling.
This young lady's body just wasn't buff enough. While she wasn't fat at all, she didn't have enough muscles and proportions either.
Tip! Constantly look for new modeling ideas. Creativity is partly a "learned" behavior.
Guys should be ripped, and girls should have well-toned bodies. A high-end model agency will demand this.
Measure Your Body Fat before Applying to a Top Model Agency
So you girls cannot simply look in the mirror and think you are slim enough. Measure your body fat. You may appear slim, but is what you have lean muscle or fat?
Physique is a major key! If you plan to earn a living from your looks, you had better bring your best game to the table.
Stay Healthy but Get Fit!
If you have the height but not the body, work on it. And, I might add, work on your body fat in a positive way. Don't be destructive. That can only lead to failure.
