Runway Model Agency Listings Become a Model Beauty Products for Young Women Taking pictures is one thing but to become obsessed with a picture is another. This article is about the ins and outs of celebrity photos and the things they make people do. |
Celebrity Photos
What do Pictures of Celebrities Make You Want to Do?Celebrities - Fans can't seem to get enough of them. The movie stars, the super models like Tyra Banks or Cindy Crawford, Film star Charlize Theron, and others are pounced upon every time they step out the door. A whole business industry is based on taking celebrity photos of models and movie actresses and selling them to magazines or tabloids, which is why you always see the paparazzi taking the time to invade celebrities privacy to desperate ends, driving alongside them, crowding outside of their houses.
Theyre like professional stalkers and voyeurs, and the public totally eats up the fruit of their labors. We all go out and about doing our business, and no one cares about the mundane activities we engage in but Katie Holmes takes Suri to the park, Brangelinas getting frozen yogurt, Jennifer Aniston is coming out of a restaurant, Matthew McConaughey is taking a jog, a celebrity is walking, a celebrity is talking, a celebrity is breathing and suddenly its big news, stop the press, pay attention.
Celebrity photos will always carry a ton of more weight than any of our precious Kodak moments do just because of their fame.
Celebrity and modeling photos have so much influence that its almost scary. People are going to swing by the park to visit the grass that Suri treaded upon, theyre going to suddenly get a craving for frozen yogurt, theyll eat at a certain restaurant because Rachel, or you mean Jennifer graced it with her presence, and you get the (celebrity) picture.
This is seriouspeople go places and buy things just because celebrities do. Not that this is such a bad thing, theres nothing wrong with picking up some extra restaurant, hang out and fashion tips. Though it might be getting there when they stop being tips and they start become like commands almost.
Celebrities Costing Health in America? Another downside of celebrity photos is that theyve supplied much fodder for what is known as thinspiration, or thinspo for short (please dont Google this). Thinspiration is posting up or exchanging photos of thin people in order to inspire each other to lose weight, and its a common activity among eating disorder communities. Celebrity photos provide excellent material because people already want to look like celebrities to begin with, and many people in Hollywood happen to be pretty and thin.
But even if these pictures can contribute to such a dangerous phenomenon, its not likely that you will just stop taking them. For one, the paparazzi wouldnt stand for it. But if you did, it would be kind of like banning soda because sugar can rot your teeth, or computers because you can get viruses.
Yes, the risk is there but anyone will tell you that throwing them out completely is ludicrous, and even if you took them away people would find something else. Soda isnt the only source of sugar, and photos of celebrities arent the only source of unrealistic beauty standards.
With that said, the trend will continue, as long as celebrity news magazines exist, those most wanted celebrity photos will continue to be taken by photographers and shutter bug amateurs, and the public will continue to make use of them as they see fit. Now, which pictures or posters do you have hanging on your bedroom wall? I have Paul Newman in the billiards room.
