Reality style TV shows have evolved over the years, beginning with daredevil shows where contestants, gleaned from the ordinary population, are willing to do gross things, such as eating bugs or drinking raw ostrich eggs. These types of television productions were hugely popular, due mostly to the sensationalism.

Viewers were intrigued to watch ordinary folks like themselves, doing things no one in their right mind would ever be able to stomach. Beautiful women were featured 'ordinary' contestants, along with handsome young men, promoting the 'beautiful people' culture in a sensationalist display the viewing public found titillating and entertaining.

When the luster began to fade from such programs, the networks began to refine their focus with surprise home makeovers and Moms switching households and exercising their own take on another family's lifestyle and discipline issues.

Then came the updated version of dating games, with bachelors and bachelorettes gathering in palatial surroundings to find the mate of their dreams. While these TV reality shows all ran their course, the public wanted more – but different and more imaginative takes on the lives of ordinary people.

Just recently, TV spots have been announcing a new type of reality TV show, airing now. The topic? Beautiful women. However, there's a twist. Evidently, the participants are given to understand that the bottom line is who is physically superior.

The real agenda of the show is to determine which of these beautiful women has true beauty which is more than skin deep. The previews, promoting the show, have snippets of interviews with these beautiful women, stating their own views of their relative beauty on a scale of 1 to 10.

In the majority, the women appear to be highly narcissistic and shallow to boot. Many state that they are surely a 20, on the 1 to 10 scale. “Just look at me. Yes, I look in the mirror constantly and I like what I see. Wouldn't you agree?” The men are no better. At best, these people are caricatures of beauty.

What Makes Beautiful Women Alluring To Men?   Which brings us to the point of what makes beautiful women beautiful to the ordinary man?   Bleached hair and overdone makeup doesn't seem to impress a regular guy as constituting the woman of his

dreams. He's looking for other qualities that are more than skin deep.

As far as the visual appeal, men really want a girl with a bit more refinement. The celebrity look only goes so far and doesn't last long. Men tend to associate the overdone celebrity with a personality that doesn't stand the test of time.

Men are perhaps more astute in their assessment of beautiful women than women might think! Sure, they enjoy a woman's physical appearance as much as the next guy.

But when they're looking for a serious relationship, personality matters! Men do appreciate women of a generous, joyful and gentle spirit. In the eyes of most men, beautiful women are possessed of all of these qualities.

We can only wait to see how these reality show contestants fare. What's hard to figure is how they've been duped into thinking it's all about looks. Are they truly so conceited, or is it all a hype? In any case, it would be fun to root for a truly beautiful woman, who didn't rate herself a '20' on a scale of 1 to10, don't you agree?
