Quick homemade acne treatments

Taking care of your skin is the best way to prevent acne and the scars it produces. Deciding upon the type of treatment and a effective way to cure this pimple challenge is up to your circumstances. There are many products to choose and they include laser, home remedies, creams and lotions. A licensed dermatologist can best determine what's best in treating this embarrassing skin condition.

No Matter if It's Home Remedies or Storebought You Want Effective Acne Treatment Options

The Pimple Problem

Breakouts can really ruin your day! It does not matter if you're a teenager, woman or man. No one likes to grapple with whiteheads and blackheads on any day.

So naturally many individuals resort to seeking out the best acne skin care treatment product. However, with so many blemish treatments and skin care products available in stores all across the nation, it can be a challenge finding one to really meet your needs and skin condition.

When I was a teenager, I’d always assumed my acne would go away by the time I reached my twenties. But of course, it didn’t. As I grow older, I’m worried that it will never go away. I feel like I’ve tried every acne treatment in the world. Luckily there is effective acne treatment. But there is no magic pill (no matter how much I wish there were).

Actually, that’s not entirely true. There are pills you can take to treat your acne. There is Isotretinoin, also known as Accutane, which in an extremely effective acne treatment. Isotretinoin must be prescribed by a doctor, and is only for the most severe acne. Doctors can also prescribe oral antibiotics, which treat acne internally.

These treatments can really help if your acne is out of control. Most insurance won’t pay for them, however, and they can be quite expensive. I’ve never had severe enough breakouts to justify this type of prescription, but if your acne is very bad, and you can afford the medicine, this might be the most effective acne treatment you’ll find.

Creams and Lotions

Doctors can also prescribe topical acne treatments, like Retin-A. Again, these creams can be quite expensive and they’re not effective for everybody. Personally, I’ve used retinoid creams and they tend to dry out my skin and have not treated my acne very effectively. On the other hand, my sister had great success with Retin-A, and her breakouts were always much worse than mine. It can be an effective acne treatment, so you might want to discuss it with your dermatologist.

If your acne isn’t quite severe enough to require a prescription, or if you’re looking for something more affordable, there are a few effective over-the-counter treatments for acne. But you can’t necessarily believe all the claims made on every product! Basically, there are two effective OTC drugs for acne treatment. One is benzoyl peroxide, the active ingredient in Oxy and other popular acne treatments.

Benzoyl peroxide is an option to consider in getting rid of acne. It is basically a bleach – although it won’t alter the color of your skin! You can find products which contain 10% or 5% benzoyl peroxide. The 10% is only if you do not have sensitive skin. It will dry you out and leave you with redness and itching. The popular Proactiv line of products is made with benzoyl peroxide, but in a much lower concentration.

Another over the counter product is salicylic acid, also known as beta hydroxy acid. It is a lot less harsh on your skin than benzoyl peroxide. Salicylic acid causes the skin to shed dead cells and renew, keeping your pores clean and preventing acne. It also makes a great spot treatment that you can use overnight on single blemishes.

Products Over the Years ...

It's a cinch to say that over the years a deluge of acne skin care treatment products have graced the shelves of local drugstores and super markets. So of them dried out the skin, some of them lead to redness, and others irritated the complexion and caused more breakouts. Yikes! If you suffer from acne, this is certainly not what you have in mind to remedy your current skin condition. Fortunately at this point many acne skin care treatment products have dramatically improved.

Let's take a look at some of the more popular blemish treatments and acne creams offered today. Although each of them claim to be the best acne skin care treatment product on the market, one may be more suitable for some individuals, while others are ideal for other acne sufferers.

One skin care line that is geared toward acne breakouts is Murad. This is considered a high-end skin care line that can be purchased in select stores and online through the official website. Another popular blemish treatment line is called Clearasil. They currently offer on-the-spot treatments for existing pimples, face washes to clear away bacteria that leads to more acne, and overnight treatments that can prevent new whiteheads and blackheads from forming.

How can you determine which products are best for you and your individual skin condition? Well, this can be a tough part. One way to learn more is by visiting a skin care specialist or even a cosmetic counter employee. Either one can ask you a few simple questions and help you determine what skin type you have.

This will help lead you to the right skin care treatments for your acne breakouts and blemishes. Needless to say, there are different types of acne, and each one may call for a different kind of acne skin care treatment product. They range from homemade to common sense like vegetables or eating apples to the cures you'll see on the cosmetics shelf.

Once you discover the one treatment option that is right for you, it won't be long before your complexion has a chance of becoming beautiful; clean and clear of blemishes like it should be. With all the effective acne products on the market today, there is no reason to wait for treatment of your skin problems.

Remember, if what you’re buying contains benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid, you know you’re getting an effective acne treatment. Another food for thought is that treating pimples early could save you from having laser or trying to find ways to get rid of scars later. The choice is yours.
